Special baggage

Oversize baggage includes all items:

• weighing more than 32 kg / 70 lb.,
• whose dimensions exceed158 cm / 62 in (height + length + width).

To transport an oversize baggage item in the hold, you must pay an extra fee. To determine the amount, please visit the Checked baggage section.
If your baggage item weighs more than 32 kg / 70 lb, please contact our sales department by phone to discuss the option best suited to your needs.

Some oversized or fragile baggage items may be accepted in the cabin, as long as prior approval is granted by the telephone sales service. These items are placed on 1 or several additional seats. The weight per seat must not exceed 46 kg / 101 lb. You must pay the fare for these seats and their associated baggage allowances will be applied.

Please note: musical instruments should be stored in hard cases with rounded edges.

Wheelchairs must be labeled and placed in adequate protective covering.
You may transport up to 2 wheelchairs free of charge in the hold.

Traveling with an infant or child? In addition to the standard baggage allowance, you can transport a foldable stroller and a car seat in the hold.
A small foldable stroller (maximum size: 15 cm x 30 cm x 100 cm / 5.9 in x 11.8 in x 39.4 in) may also be accepted in the cabin* subject to availability in the overhead compartments.

Air, hunting and safari rifles are regulated weapons. Transportation of these items requires specific authorization and an accord. If you plan to travel with any of these items, please indicate so when reserving your trip (by telephone or at a ticket office) to obtain the required transport authorization. You must then declare these items when you check in.

You may transport a rifle under the following conditions:

• the rifle must be unloaded,
• the rifle and its ammunition may be transported in the same baggage item but must be packed in separate bags within that baggage item,
• the rifle and its ammunition cannot be transported in a baggage item(s) containing other personal items,
• ammunition must be packed in a single container (fiberboard, wood or metal box) weighing up to 5 kg / 11 lb per passenger,
• cartridges must remain in their original packaging, and any empty spaces must be filled with stuffing material to avoid slippage during the flight.

Please note: each firearm is considered a single baggage item and will be included in your baggage allowance. If you exceed the maximum number of baggage items allowed, you will have to pay a fee for all additional baggage items. 

The transport of ammunition requires specific authorization and an accord. If you plan to transport ammunition, please indicate so when reserving your trip (by telephone or at a ticket office) to obtain the required transport authorization.
You may transport:

• ammunition for all hunting weapons,
• ammunition for calibers less than or equal to 19.1 mm.

You may transport ammunition under the following conditions:

• ammunition must be packed in a single container (fiberboard, wood or metal box) weighing up to 5 kg / 11 lb per passenger,
• the rifle and its ammunition may be transported in the same baggage item but must be packed in separate bags within that baggage item,
• cartridges must remain in their original packaging, and any empty spaces must be filled with stuffing material to avoid slippage during the flight.

Importing certain animal-based products into European Union (EU) countries is subject to prohibitions and highly strict regulations due to the risk of introducing diseases. Undeclared transport of these products is punishable by fine or criminal prosecution*.

Please note: the air transport (cabin, hold, or freight) of any kind of meat from wild animals is strictly prohibited in the European Union. Passengers violating this prohibition may face criminal charges*.
